The Rhone rises as the turbulent effluent of the Glacier that gave the river its name. It then takes a rest in the Geneva Lake before starting its long and quiet flow towards the Mediterranean Sea. Exploration, peace and nature are the main interests of its slow course through Geneva.
Its quiet waters carry you gently, without splashing you; you discover all along the way a flora and fauna that no one suspects at the gates of Geneva. It’s an ideal outing for families or to share moments of tranquillity with friends. We suggest:
A departure from the heart of Geneva at the Jonction to the Passerelle de Chèvre (highway bridge): an easy stretch on a canoe or kayak-raft to get the basics before trying out more sportive rivers
A departure from Chancy at the Carnot Bridge on canoe or kayak, in a genuine trapper’s environment.
